Why this exists

Business accounts were built for dashboards, and dashboards were built for a world where you went to the software. That world is ending. You already run half your day through an assistant — drafting, researching, planning — and then you stop, open a browser tab, and click through a dashboard to answer a question your assistant could have answered in one line.

ai.satchel.eu closes that gap. It is an MCP server that puts a Satchel account inside the assistant you already use — Claude, Cursor, anything that speaks MCP. Ask what you hold, pull last month's cash flow, drill into a payment by id. The account meets you where you work now, not where software used to live.

The design bet is small and specific: no new app, no new chat, no LLM of ours in the middle. Seven tools, a real API contract, and your own assistant doing the talking.

Who builds it

The team behind Satchel. The legal entity is Satchelpay UAB, reg. No. 304628112, registered at Upės St. 21-1, LT-08128 Vilnius, Lithuania, and operating since 2018. Satchel holds electronic money institution licence No. 28, issued by the Bank of Lithuania. Client funds in the regulated e-money service are safeguarded in accordance with applicable requirements. Electronic money is not a deposit and is not covered by the Lithuanian deposit guarantee scheme.

Satchel's core business is the regulated e-money service at satchel.eu — multi-currency accounts, dedicated IBANs, cards, payouts. This site is the same team pointing that infrastructure at a new reader: your AI assistant.

Where the product stands today

Honestly: a developer preview. Here is exactly what that means.

• The API contract is real. The MCP server is a faithful client of the Satchel Client Office API contract and is intended for integration testing.
• The data is synthetic. The sandbox serves seeded accounts, balances, cards and transactions that look real but aren't. No real funds, no real accounts, nothing moves in the real world.
• Writes are off by default. satchel_move_money refuses in every mode until you flip SATCHEL_ALLOW_WRITES. Enabling that setting does not replace the checks and controls that apply to a live service.
• Interest in live access can be registered. Joining the waitlist is not an account application. Any live access is subject to the applicable agreement and to identification, verification and due diligence requirements under satchel.eu terms. Supporting documents may be requested.

No user counts, no logos, no launch dates we can't keep. When the numbers exist, they will be real ones.

How it relates to satchel.eu

Same company, same rails, different surface. satchel.eu is the regulated e-money service and its dashboard — where accounts are opened, funds are safeguarded, and the licence does its work. ai.satchel.eu is the access layer: the MCP server, the sandbox, and the path from a demo key to a live credential.

Nothing here replaces the regulated e-money service. Access to any live service is subject to the applicable agreement, onboarding and regulatory requirements.
